MY STORY

Brighton_edited_edited.jpg

Lucy grew up in the picturesque, countryside of the Forest of Dean where her father, established potter Alistair Young, set up a pottery.  Having completed a degree in Fine Art Painting at Winchester School of Art and after a career as a teacher, Lucy retrained as a production potter at Whichford Pottery in the Cotswolds. She now owns her own business - Lucy Young Ceramics - where she creates high-quality, hand-thrown pottery in a once world renowned tile factory - Maws Craft Centre here in Ironbridge, Shropshire.

Her work is thrown on a potter's wheel and includes a production range of domestic ware; bespoke, branded products for artisan companies; as well as her own unique individual ceramic pieces.
