About the event
This introductory throwing session is perfect for absolute beginners or those who have tried throwing before and want a refresher session. Led by owner and experienced teacher Lucy Young, you'll receive a demonstration on preparing the clay and safely operating the wheel. After that, you will have the rest of the session, with support, to make your own pots one of the brand-new, state-of-the art pottery wheels!
🎖️Included in the price of the session, you will be able to select your favourite pot to keep and use for many years to come!
🏅You will be able to choose from three coloured glazes for your finished pot to be dipped in.
🏅When your pot is completely dry, it will be twice fired in the electric kiln for a initial 'bisque' and then a second ‘glaze’ firing which goes up to stoneware temperature (1220C) . This process can take up to 5-6…
