Booking and Payment

All bookings must be made through our website.

Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.

Provisional bookings will not be held without payment.

By booking, you enter a binding agreement with Lucy Young Ceramics.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult unless otherwise stated. For designated children's and teenage workshops, children may be dropped off and collected at the end of the session, provided a parent or legal guardian has completed the required consent and emergency contact information.

Children’s Workshops

Parents and carers are welcome to drop off and collect children attending designated children's and teenager workshops. Lucy is DBS checked and experienced in teaching children and young people.

Children must be collected promptly at the advertised finish time. Lucy Young Ceramics cannot accept responsibility for children outside of the advertised workshop times.

If someone other than the named parent or carer will be collecting the child, this must be communicated to Lucy Young Ceramics in advance.

Lucy Young Ceramics reserves the right to contact parents or carers and request early collection if a child's behaviour compromises the safety, wellbeing or enjoyment of themselves or other participants.

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

Vouchers are non refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Vouchers can be redeemed against any experience on our website.

To redeem, the voucher code must be entered at checkout.

Standard booking and cancellation policies apply to voucher holders.

Vouchers may be transferred to another person before redemption, but once booked, the standard terms apply.

More than 14 days’ notice: booking may be rescheduled or receive a credit voucher minus £10 admin fee.

7 to 14 days’ notice: 50% of the booking fee is retained.

Less than 7 days’ notice or no show: no refund or credit.

Lucy Young Ceramics reserves the right to cancel or reschedule sessions due to low bookings, staff illness, or unforeseen circumstances. Customers will be offered a full refund, alternative date, or voucher in these cases.

Health, Safety and Conduct

Whilst all reasonable care will be taken to ensure the safety of participants, attendance is at the participant's own risk.

Follow all studio instructions for safe use of equipment.

Suitable clothing and footwear must be worn, long hair tied back and jewellery removed.

Make sure your nails are short to prevent injury while working on the wheel or handbuilding. This helps you safely manipulate the clay and ensures the best results for your pieces.

Studio equipment must be used responsibly. Attendees are liable for damage caused by negligence.

For children's and teenage workshops (ages 7–17), a parent or legal guardian must complete the required consent form, including emergency contact details and any relevant medical, behavioural or additional support information prior to attendance.

Parents and carers are responsible for informing Lucy Young Ceramics of any allergies, medical conditions, additional needs or circumstances that may affect a child's participation, including any changes to this information prior to the workshop.

In the event of an emergency, and where a parent or emergency contact cannot be reached, Lucy Young Ceramics may seek appropriate medical assistance for the participant.

Collection of Work

Where applicable, fired work will be ready for collection 3 to 4 weeks after the session or series.

Lucy Young Ceramics is not responsible for work left uncollected beyond 8 weeks. Unclaimed items may be disposed of.

Postal delivery can be arranged at an additional cost. Lucy Young Ceramics is not responsible for postal loss or damage.

Photography and Marketing

Lucy Young Ceramics may photograph sessions for promotional purposes. For participants under the age of 18, photographs will only be taken and used with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Privacy and Data Protection

Personal data collected during booking is handled in line with GDPR.

We use contact details to confirm bookings, send updates, and provide customer support.

Miscellaneous

Workshops start promptly. Late arrival may result in a shortened session.

Lucy Young Ceramics reserves the right to refuse entry or remove anyone behaving inappropriately.

All policies are subject to change. Current terms will always be available on the website.

Handmade Nature of Products

All Lucy Young Ceramics products are individually handmade and may feature slight variations in size, shape, glaze finish, decoration and surface appearance. These variations are part of the unique character and charm of handmade ceramics and are not considered faults or defects.

Product photographs are intended as a guide only and, whilst every effort is made to represent colours and finishes accurately, slight variations may occur between pieces and between screen displays and the finished product.

Caring for Your Pottery

Lucy Young Ceramics pieces are designed for everyday use.

  • Functional stoneware products are designed for everyday food and drink use.

  • Most items are dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of the piece.

  • Sudden changes in temperature should be avoided where possible.

  • Although stoneware is durable, all ceramics can chip or break if knocked or dropped.

  • Avoid stacking mugs and tankards where possible to reduce the risk of chips.

If you have any questions about caring for your ceramics, please get in touch at studio@lucyyoungceramics.co.uk or on 01952 973417.
