WHAT TO EXPECT
Ideal for: Scout groups,, youth groups, school clubs, community groups, and extra‑curricular workshops.
Bring your group together for a creative, hands‑on pottery experience that blends skill‑building with fun, teamwork and artistic expression. Perfect for groups aged 7 + (children must be accompanied by appropriate adult supervision where required), teenagers and adults - see different options below.
Children under 18 must have a signed parent or guardian consent form prior to participation, to ensure safety and acknowledge the risks involved.
What’s Included
1) Hand-Building Workshop (Ages 7 -12) (minimum of 6)
Duration: 1.5 hours
Price: £25 per child
Focused on making a small hand-built piece, such as mini bowls, pinch pots, or simple slab forms
Designed for younger children to enjoy hands-on clay work before trying the wheel
All materials, tools, glazing, and firing included
Finished pieces ready for collection 3–4 weeks after the session
Optional follow-up painting session: decorate your own pieces with your own design using specialist underglaze paints for an additional £20 per child, arranged at another convenient time
Can also be delivered at an alternative space to accommodate larger groups if needed
2) Wheel-Throwing Taster Experience (Ages 12 - 18) (minimum of 6)
Duration: 2 hours
Price: £40 per participant
Introduction to pottery wheel throwing
Step-by-step demonstrations and guided practice
Studio has 6 pottery wheels; for larger groups up to 12 participants, they can share the wheels and take turns
Finished pieces glazed, twice-fired, and ready for collection 3–4 weeks later
Ideal for teenagers and adults new to the wheel
3) Hands-On Wheel Throwing & Hand-Building (Ages 12+ or Adults)
Duration: 3 hours (Take a break for lunch — either at the on-site café or bring your own)
Price: £65 per participant
Participants will have a go at learning wheel-throwing techniques; controlling the clay and lifting the clay to create small bowls/vessels as well as hand-building techniques making a small hand-built piece, such as a bowl, pinch pots, or slab forms
Studio capacity: 6 participants on the pottery wheels and 6 participants at hand-building stations around the table, with rotations to ensure everyone experiences both techniques
What to bring
An apron and old towel stroke tea towel for drying hands and wheel head alternatively you can hire an apron and towel bundle at check out for £5
Wear comfortable clothing that can get a little messy, and keep your nails short!
