Taster Session £70

What to expect

When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into the studio and watch a demonstration on the pottery wheel. Then it’s your turn to get hands on with the clay. You’ll be guided step by step as you practice shaping and forming your own pieces with plenty of encouragement along the way. The atmosphere is relaxed and supportive, giving you space to build confidence and enjoy the soothing tactile experience of working with clay. 

You'll have the freedom to experiment with different forms and ideas choosing your favourite creations at the end to take home. 

What’s included

1.5 hour pottery throwing session in my pottery studio at Maws Craft Centre 

  • Your own Potters wheel and specialist tools for the duration of the class 

  • Unlimited supply of clay 

  • In depth demonstrations and expert tuition on hand throughout 

  • Light and airy studio to relax and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of throwing 

  • Your favourite pot will be twice fired and glazed in a colour of your choice 

  • Your pot will be available for collection three to four weeks after your session (or can be posted for an additional charge) 

  • Additional pieces can be fired for a small charge based on weight 

  • For ages 16+

What to bring

An apron and old towel / tea towel for drying hands and the wheel head.

Alternatively you can hire an apron and towel bundle at check out for £5. 

Wear comfortable clothing that can get a little messy, and keep your nails short!
